Renewable Energy Certificate REC

Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) Origination

A Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) is a market-based instrument that certifies the generation of one megawatt-hour (MWh) of electricity from renewable sources like solar or wind. These certificates allow entities to claim the environmental benefits of clean energy, regardless of whether they generate the energy themselves. For example, if your company installs solar panels and produces 5 MWh of energy, you'd earn 5 RECs. RECs can be either retired by the generator to prove use of clean energy or sold to other organizations looking to meet sustainability goals or regulatory requirements.

Seamless REC Management Service

To help your monetize your clean energy production, FuSE has partnered with Carbon Commodities Group (CCG), a leader in carbon markets. Through this partnership, we handle the full lifecycle of REC origination and sales, from registering solar generators with the Western Renewable Energy Generation Information System (WREGIS), to tracking renewable generation, and monetization. Leveraging our existing access to project and metering data, we simplify the process by eliminating the need for third-party contracts, ensuring secure data handling, and integrating REC management directly into our purpose-built platform.

Revenue Potential and How to Get Started

You can generate significant annual revenue from RECs, with estimates ranging from $1,320 (75 kW DC) to $18,400 (1MW DC) based on solar system size, assuming a $15 per REC market price. We offer competitive pricing with transparent per-REC fees and no upfront costs. You can monitor REC generation, payments, and documentation via our secure dashboard.
