Revolutionizing Cold Storage: Harness the Power of eMHE for Sustainable Operations
Cold storage operators have a unique responsibility to prevent perishables from spoiling as they are transported and stored. While other warehouse operators can let goods sit at room temperatures, cold storage operators must maintain precise temperatures for sensitive products, such as frozen and refrigerated grocery items, biopharmaceutical products, flowers and more.
Electric material handling equipment (eMHE) moves, stacks and selects cold storage items in warehouses and distribution centers. eMHE includes forklifts, electric pallet jacks, electric stackers, order pickers and reach trucks. Cold storage eMHE is important for warehouse productivity and to prevent contaminating the cold storage food items with fuel exhaust.
Cold storage facilities that have electrified their operations qualify for their state’s or region’s clean fuel programs which can become a new revenue source.
To participate, companies must register, track and report fleet data every quarter. Most companies don’t want this administrative burden. FuSE makes participation in the programs seamless: we register your eMHE and eTRUs, report energy consumption, and sell your credits with no upfront cost. And, in order to maximize participation in the programs, we install complimentary, non-invasive metering equipment on-site. We do everything – all our cold storage partners have to do is cash an incentive check.
For cold storage facilities wanting to transition operations, FuSE is your partner in fleet electrification. Through our network of OEMs we can help facilitate the transition from traditional diesel TRUs to electric. To recoup some of the expenses of converting your fleet, FuSE will then register and manage your fleet’s participation in clean fuel programs. We take the burden out of clean fuel program management for cold storage operators.
