Michigan’s Clean Fuel Standard, which forms a part of the Clean Energy Future Plan, was introduced April 2023. The bill aims to reduce the carbon intensity of transportation fuels in the state by 25% by 2035. The policy will offer credits for using cleaner electricity for transportation, as well as for replacing traditional fuel sources with renewables or low-carbon sources. The bill was co-developed by the Michigan Clean Fuel Standard Coalition, which includes 41 partner organizations.
