Funding:

First-come, first-serve program. Approximately $9,700,000 will be made available under a competitive application process. $4,850,000 will be available for successful application under each track. Applicants can request $50,000 up to a maximum of $1,000,000 for their project.

Dates:

Applications can be requested in the fall 2022.

Summary:

The Building Electrification Grant program, under the Clean Energy Fund, provides funding for multifamily residential and commercial building owners and tenants to deploy and demonstrate grid-enabled, high-efficiency, all electric-buildings that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and accelerate the path to zero-energy. This includes shifting from fossil fuels to high-efficiency electric equipment, control systems that enable grid integration or demand control, and on-site renewable generation and efficiency measures.

Qualifying Projects:

  •         Track 1: projects will expand the deployment of Grid-Interactive Buildings.
  •         Track 2: projects will support the installation of Electric Equipment and Fuel Switching.

Eligible Applicants:

  •         For-profit companies
  •         Non-profit organizations
  •         State, Local, and Tribal Governments, including K-12 Public Schools and Housing Authorities
  •         Individual owners of commercial and multifamily residential buildings
  •         Program administrators, including Non-profit organizations, Local Governments, and Retail Electric Utilities
